Engr. Olukayode Olawale Anibaba
Engr. Olukayode Olawale Anibaba is a distinguished civil engineer with over four decades of exemplary service in the public and private sectors. Renowned for his expertise in infrastructure development, project management, and transportation systems, he has played a pivotal role in shaping Nigeria’s infrastructural landscape. A graduate of the University of Benin (B.Sc. in Civil Engineering, 1977) and the University of Birmingham, UK (M.Sc. in Highway & Traffic Engineering, 1983), Engr. Anibaba’s contributions have left an indelible mark on the profession.
During his illustrious career, he rose to the position of Permanent Secretary within the Lagos State Ministry of Works, where he spearheaded numerous critical projects, including the iconic Third Mainland Bridge as Chief Resident Engineer. His leadership and technical acumen have been instrumental in the successful execution of major roads, bridges, and public facilities across the state.
A Fellow of both the Nigerian Society of Engineers and the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (UK), Engr. Anibaba’s achievements have earned him multiple commendations, including awards from the Lagos State Government for professional excellence and dedicated service.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Engr. Anibaba has been a mentor to aspiring engineers, fostering talent and imparting knowledge that has shaped the next generation of engineering leaders. His financial and advisory contributions to the Nigerian Society of Engineers and its headquarters underscore his dedication to the profession and its growth.
Now retired, Engr. Anibaba continues to provide strategic guidance and thought leadership in engineering, particularly as part of the Nigerian Academy of Engineering.
